Shhh… Listen closely. Do you hear the faintest fluttering of wings? This soft serenade can mean only one thing—the fairies have landed at Gardner Village!

Every spring, The Village comes alive with the arrival of our winged friends and the Woodland Fairy Festival. It’s a magical time, and a time to get outdoors and enjoy the sunshine.

Come any time between now and June 15 , 2019, to enjoy this memorable experience. You’ll find free fairy garden displays throughout The Village, as well as an A to Z Fairy Quest. Of course, if you come on Saturday afternoons, you’re in for an added treat—the free fairy parade.

The winged theme changes each week, giving you much to look forward to.

Parade Planning
First wings first, your attire. Come as you are, or fly in sporting your favorite fairy wings and fancy things. Of course, Garner Village shops can hook you up with a fanciful look.

This enchanting ensemble is available at Spoiled Rotten. They also have wings and other options to choose from.

Time to get your parade face on. Every Saturday for the duration of the Woodland Fairy Festival, face painters can be found outside Spoiled Rotten. They'll have your youngsters shimmering from head to toe.

If a painted face isn’t your pace, you can always opt for a henna tattoo. This temporary art is intricate and amazing. You’ll find the table outside of Cottage Retreat Spa & Salon on Saturdays from noon-2 PM.

Another fairy-inspired facial option is a glittery fairy kiss. Fairies are known to plant these pretty, glittery decals at random, so keep your eyes open.

With the magic of fairies comes the enchantment of unicorns. You’ll find plenty of horn headpieces in the shops, like these silly hats from Shopaholics. Squeeze the ends and the ears move. The kids LOVE this!

You can also get unicorn adorned at Spoiled Rotten, where these headbands and pretty floral crowns are available.

Parents, if you aren’t up for a wing fling, a special Woodland Fairy Festival t-shirt has you covered. Find them for a limited time at Shopaholics.

NOTE: All are welcome to participate in this free event, with or without fairy attire.
GARDNER VILLAGE FAIRY PARADE: TIME FOR YOUR FLIGHT OF FANCY
Now that you’re parade-ready, it’s time to shine in a march around The Village. Here’s what you can expect:
1. Let's gather. Meet outside Spoiled Rotten Children's Boutique just before 1 PM. The parade takes flight at 1 PM sharp, so you want to make sure you’ve landed on time.

2. Meet the fairies. You’ll hear quick intros from our whimsical women before embarking on your trek.

3. Perfect your flying technique. Part of your parade experience includes a lesson on proper fairy frolicking.

4. Make a wish. As part of your parade experience, you’ll make a wish at the magical Wishing Bridge. Here, a fairy will give you a special wishing ribbon.

With that ribbon clutched tightly in hand, it's time to close those pretty peepers and think of a wish.

Once a wish is ready, littles will whisper their desires to their ribbon and hold then hold their wish-filled ribbon high in the sky. This will help those dreams take flight!

Once wishes are primed and ready, wishers tie them on the Wishing Bridge, where they’re ready for the fairies to gather.

5. Add some fairy finesse. At this point in the parade, fairies learn some fab dance moves. (And their grownups take MANY photos!)

With their toes extra twinkly, children then dance across the sweet, toadstool-lined fairy stage.

There are more surprises in store, but this gives you the flight idea. See you Saturday to celebrate the arrival of our winged friends and the Woodland Fairy Festival here at Gardner Village.

Fly in soon to the see the sites. While you're at it, keep an eye right here on our blog, as well as on our social media sites, for more festival highlights. You can also get details on our website. No matter where you land, you're sure to find magic!

Psssst!... Don't miss this, the first-annual Fairy Sale-Abration is happening this Saturday, April 27, 2019. It's your chance to fly in for some serious savings. Of course, it wouldn't be a sale-abration without games, food trucks, and other excitement. Mark your calendar, call your fairy friends, and join us in a seriously fun day out.
Cheers!
