Look! Over yonder! Do you see it? It’s Fairy Isle!
Remember our behind-the-scenes look at this newest addition to the Woodland Fairy Festival?
It sure has come a long way. The finished island is amazing and SO worth seeing. It even has its own Fairy Isle Overlook, just outside of A Great Escape at Gardner Village, so you can take in the magical details.
Of course, you’ll want to view it from the Georgell Doll Shop side as well. The island shines from all sides.
HAND-CRAFTED FAIRY DISPLAYS
Fairy Isle is the latest hand-crafted display to join the mix at The Village. Here's a peek at some of the other incredible structures and displays you’ll find in this free fairy tour.
WATCH FOR ROCKS
As you take your tour, keep an eye out for free souvenirs. My daughters and I painted a bunch of fairy-themed rocks and hid them throughout The Village. If you happen to spot one, it’s yours to enjoy. Consider it our Rock RAK—Rock Random Act of Kindness.
If you want to get in on the fun, paint a fairy rock of your own and hide it somewhere in The Village.
NOTE: Please only hide rocks in Village areas with public access. Rocks should not be placed behind fairy displays or in staged fairy gardens. After all, you want to make sure it’s clear your rock is free for the taking.
For more on how to paint rocks (supply tips, sealing advice, etc.), you can check out my latest segment on Studio 5 and read my tips here.
If you happen to find one of our rocks, I hope you’ll tag me on Instagram @meganhoeppner and The Village @gardnervillage. We’d love to see where these designs end up! Same goes if you end up hiding gems of your own. My girls and I would love to look for your treasures!
There’s still time to get in on the free fairy parades happening every Saturday at 1 PM between now and June 23. Simply meet outside of Spoiled Rotten Children’s Boutique. Real fairies will be there, ready to take you on a flight throughout The Village.
Thanks to our friends at The Farm, you might even see a unicorn on your adventure!
A GREAT FAIRY ESCAPE
A Great Escape at Gardner Village is one of the newest spots to call The Village home. Read more about this awesome escape room here.
Just in time for the festival, you can help Willow the Fairy escape in The Great Fairy Escape.
This is the first family-friendly escape room in Utah, and it only takes 20-30 minutes to experience, so even your younger detectives will enjoy the outing. Of course, the puzzles in the room can also be set to an older audience exclusively if you’d prefer a more difficult/advanced experienced. Walk-ins are welcome or you can call A Great Escape to plan your escape. 801.566.3798
FAIRY DANCE PARTY
Hey, Twinkle Toes! Ready for some serious flight of fancy? Gardner Village is teaming up with @Housewife2Hostess for the first annual Fairy Dance Party! Wear your wings, dawn that floral crown, and dance the night away under the stars at Mill Plaza. All ladies ages 18 and older are invited to this enchanting soiree. Come with your BFFs - best fairy friends - and make magical memories together. With fairy themed photo opps, refreshments from Archibald’s Restaurant, swag bags, and more, all included in the price of your e-ticket, this is one pixie party you won’t want to miss. Reserve your spot early, as this event will sell out.
Dates: Friday, June 1st and Saturday, June 2nd 2018, 6:30pm to 10pm. Doors open at 6:30pm. Dance party begins at 8:00pm.
EVEN MORE TO EXPLORE
Last week, we covered fairy classes, shop make-and-take projects, fairy fashion, finding your fairy name (Prancing Snow Mushroom here), the A to Z Fairy Quest, fancy photo ops, the Wishing Bridge, and more. Read all about it here.
I’ll join you again next week to share even more in store at this year’s Woodland Fairy Festival. In the meantime, I hope to run into… errr, fly into you at the festival sometime soon. ;)
Cheers!
