It’s easy to see how Utah’s own silo experience is often compared to and rivals the well-known Waco destination. Like Texas’ famous Magnolia Market, the Gardner Village is rich with history, making it a truly unique backdrop to your shopping, dining, and event going.
Believe it or not, the original Gardner Mill was built in 1853, BEFORE Lincoln was president! Since Nancy Long purchased the property in 1980, she and her family have gone to great lengths to preserve this important piece of Utah history, created by one of the first Utah pioneers, Archibald Gardner.
Today, Gardner Village is owned by two of Nancy’s children, Angie Gerdes and Joe Long (pictured below). To see how they’ve continued their mother’s legacy while also turning this unique landmark into one of the most gorgeous event venues and shopping/dining experiences in the U.S. is remarkable!
SILO SETTING
The original mill's influence is part of what makes this destination such a cool place to see and be. As you shop at CF Home Furniture & Design and dine at Archibald’s Restaurant, you’ll see historical elements throughout, including pieces of the original mill actually preserved and built into the design of the building.
SILO SHOPPING
CF Home Furniture & Design is Gardner Village's flagship store. Some may remember it from its Country Furniture days. Today, this two-story store is home to a wide assortment of modern farmhouse decor, timeless furniture, lovely lighting fixtures, and on-trend home decor and gifts.
The design experts at CF would love to help you find your dream design for your home in their newly- designed interior design space, located on the second floor of the store.
Beyond CF Home Furniture & Design, you'll find an entire Village of shops to explore. See a complete list here.
SILO DINING
A meal at Archibald’s Restaurant is comfort at its finest. Beyond the impressive list of entrees offered, the restaurant is known for its fried green tomatoes and housemade carrot cake (among other things!). You really can't go wrong with anything you order. And you can even dine inside the famous silo! Plus, there’s an event space in the upper silo that can be rented out for smaller private gatherings.
SILO CELEBRATING
With four stunning event venues to choose from within the mill, you’re sure to find the perfect match for your next celebration. No matter the space you select, your photos and every detail is guaranteed to sparkle.

A MILL-ION MORE REASONS TO VISIT
Beyond the famous mill, the history lesson continues throughout The Village. Most of the buildings on the property were moved to Gardner Village, where they could avoid demolition and live on in new and wonderful ways. Today, they’re the home of numerous shops, run by some of the best small-business owners around! Look for the plaques on the buildings to learn more about their past and Utah’s rich story.
If “Visit Magnolia Market” is on your bucket list (and who could blame you?!), you’re going to be captivated by this close-to-home gem. Its farmhouse-meets-industrial charm, huge variety of shops, brilliant history, numerous seasonal experiences and festivals, delicious food, and truly original event venues make this, Utah’s own silo experience, one to remember! We can't wait to see you milling around soon.
Cheers!
