Why should Easter eggs have all the fun? At Willow Hill Yarn Company, you can give dye a try on yarn!
On Saturday, March 28, 2020, Willow Hill is offering their popular YARN DYEING CLASS. It's typically only offered twice a year, so you don't want to miss this chance to try something new.
WHY DYE?
You might be asking why one would want to dye yarn. There are so many reasons! Here are just a few of the aspects that make this class a can’t-miss experience:
1. 100% YOU
If you love yarn, you get the added pleasure of knowing you’re creating with a product that’s 100% your original design. Cool!
You’ll have several dye colors to choose from and will even learn how to mix colors to create your own custom shades.
2. NO MUSS, NO FUSS
Come for the fun and let Emily and her team at Willow Hill worry about all the prep work and clean up. Plus, Willow Hill will steam set and wind your dyed yarn for you, leaving you with a finished product that’s ready to be put to use.
3. DYE BEFORE YOU BUY
Consider this your creative test drive. You get the experience of dyeing yarn without investing in the acid dye and other supplies needed. It gives you the reassurance that it’s a hobby you want to explore further on your own before making the big investment.
4. BANG FOR YOUR BUCK
For little more than you'd pay for a skein of quality yarn, you'll get hands-on instruction and tips from a pro, the experience of trying new techniques AND 463 yards of Superwash Merino Wool Yarn to take home. Whoa! (Pssst… 463 yards is enough to make a pair of socks or a gorgeous shawl!)
5. IT’S FUN!
This class is all about color play. You’ll receive a sock blank, which is basically your yarn canvas. You’ll learn various coloring techniques, including a direct-to-yarn painting approach and even foam stamping. Once you've colored your sock blank, Willow Hill will steam set, unravel, and wind it into a ball of yarn for you to use, making this a no-stress exercise. Because the sock blank is ultimately unraveled, there’s no right or wrong way to color it and no such thing as a mistake. Breathe easy knowing this is a process to simply enjoy as you try something new.
6. A NIFTY GIFTY
Even if you aren’t a yarn artist, odds are someone close to you is. How neat would it be to give that someone a skein of yarn hand colored by you? (Mother’s Day is just around the corner, or how about a yarn-filled Easter Basket?) Of course, nothing beats the gift of an experience. Purchase a class ticket for you and someone you adore. You’ll have a ball doing something out of the ordinary as you make memories together.
NOTE: Please wear older clothes that you don’t mind getting color on.
Spots for the Yarn Dyeing Class are limited. Sign up today to secure your seat.
Cheers!
