Have you heard? The Woodland Fairy Festival is in full sWING at Gardner Village, now through July 1, 2023!
Don’t tell the Gardner Village Witches, but this festival is quickly becoming another fan favorite around here.
Longtime WitchFest attendees, Angel and Jen, seen above with Angel's daughter, Jen, came out to the Woodland Fairy Festival for the first time this year.
"We've been coming to see the witches for years. It's so much fun to now see the fairies. We played fairies as a children and can never pass up the opportunity for a tea party!"
(Get your tickets to the Fairy Tea On Mill Plaza here.)
The family affair continues. Many grandparents come to the Woodland Fairy Festival with their grandchildren, including Violet (above), age 7, and her grandma. Her grandma had this to say:
"We are in love! We'll be regulars to this now. We're fairy freaks anyway and can't believe we haven't been here before. What fun it all is!"
With so much to see, do, and enjoy, it’s easy to see why our fairy friends are loving this Village springtime affair. In this first of a two-part post on the Woodland Fairy Festival, let’s take a look at a few of the many key attractions.
FAIRY PARADE
Every Saturday at noon, the fairies assemble for a flight about The Village. Meet in the open area in front of Spoiled Rotten Children’s Boutique and prepare for this magical march. Spoiled Rotten sponsors this weekly parade.
There are even activities to enjoy while you wait for the parade to begin. From bubble business to practicing fairy leaps and twirls with the Gardner Village Fairies, the time is sure to fly!
The parade route includes crossing two bridges, a stop at the scenic Fairy Island overlook, and a grand finale dance party at the stage in Center Court (beneath the water tower).
You never know who you’ll see en route. The most enchanting (and adorable!) friends have been known to make appearances, thanks to our loving friends at The Farm, a local animal rescue.
If walking through this parade perfection isn’t an ideal option for you, or even if you want to expand your tour, you’ll want to ask The Farm about their Woodland Wagon Rides, happening throughout the festival. If you're feeling extra enchanting, a pony/unicorn ride is the way to go.
PARADE ATTIRE
Fairy attire certainly isn’t required, but it does make the experience that much more magical. You’ll find an assortment of enchanting outfits at Spoiled Rotten Children’s Boutique, as well as stylish adult ensembles at BohoChic Boutique.
For added sparkle, stop by the face painting booth, located near The Train Shoppe. The Artsee Entertainment team has just the finishing touch you seek.
Speaking of fun stops, don’t miss out on the glitter tattoos and jewelry kits available outside of Spoiled Rotten Children’s Boutique.
The final sprinkle on top can be found at The Crystal Fairy, where they’re handing out free fairy kisses.
Don't forget to pause for a pic!
SHOP HOP
Also on Saturdays, before and after the parade, you’ll find assorted activities happening throughout The Village. As mentioned, there are tents set up for painting/tattoos/make-and-takes/etc. You’ll also find the sweetest fairy dust in the form of a Pixie Stick handout outside of Chocolate Covered Wagon.
Zip on over to Seven Gables Mercantile to create your own fairy garden.
Looking to add extra elements to your fairy garden? Lulu’s Boutique is your headquarters for all things fairy garden. You don’t want to miss their impressive assortment.
For an even bigger garden take, Simply Flowers has several seasonal selections that add the whimsy, including this light-up, solar-powered garden stake.
Yes, Saturdays are full of fairy fun this time of year at Gardner Village. Book your flight of fancy and join us for the celebration. Join us next post for another look at this seasonal celebration, including free things to do with the family Mon-Sat. In the meantime, learn more here. You don’t want to miss the wonderment that awaits!
